The Estonian Orthopaedic Society is a member of the Estonian Surgical Association aiming to develop the specialty of orthopaedic surgery in Estonia, to improve cooperation and communication between its members, and to improve knowledge and skills. The present society’s predecessor was founded in 1976.
The Estonian Orthopaedic Society has 131 members and 9 honorary members. Several associated societies also work closely with the Estonian Orthopaedic Society, namely the Estonian AO Alumni Chapter (aotrauma.ee), the Estonian Society for Surgery of the Hand (www.kaekirurgia.ee), the Estonian Arthroplasty Society, and the Estonian Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology Society (www.artroskoopia.ee). The Estonian Orthopaedic Society is a member of EFORT and the Nordic Orthopaedic Federation NOF.
